We are officially back home after a 10 day vacation! I thought I’d share a few pictures I took around NC, Isle of Palms, and Charleston. We had an absolute blast and ate LOTS of good food! First stop was Winston-Salem for a mini reunion with my dad’s side of the family. My uncle ordered shrimp from a fresh Alaska market that were two to a pound and had them waiting for us when we arrived…like I said we ate well!
Here’s the four siblings, so special when they get together. They live in New Hampshire, Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
Hal got a new puppy while we were all together, here’s Bella!
On Sunday we drove to Isle of Palms and this was our first stop- authentic Tacos on Sullivan’s Island! Thanks Crowe family for pretending I was one of yours this night.
The next day we went with our family friends into Charleston. First stop- Holy City Brewery. They have an AMAZING selection of beer. We got flights and appetizers here.
Next stop was dinner- we trusted our waitress at the brewery and went to a restaurant called Hominy. It was probably our favorite meal all week. REAL southern cooking- stewed okra, tomato pudding, and even a window outside into the bar so you can drink while you wait, amazing!
Next, we drove downtown Charleston and saw the Pineapple fountain at night.
Back to the beach we went, the next night was pizza at the Crowe’s, fishing on the beach, and our first Jenga war.
The next day was cloudy so we drove into Charleston and explored rainbow row, I had a blast taking these pictures! Unfortunately, the shoot I was going to do got rained out..so sad!
The next night we went to the Boathouse for dinner and enjoyed eating seafood right on the water.
This was probably my favorite restaurant we ate at- it’s called Fuel. It is a repurposed gas station turned bar and restaurant- very cool vibe.
I read five novels over vacation- it was amazing. I have lots of recommendations for people. I read Behind Closed Doors, The Couple Next Door, and The Break Down- those are all scary page turn thrillers. Behind Closed Doors was WEIRD but I couldn’t put it down. The Couple Next Door was SO good, and The Break Down made me scared to sleep alone last night. Next, I read Becky’s book called Make Your Bed. It was a speech from Admiral McRaven- very inspirational and quick read. The last book I read was a new teen bestseller called One of Us is Lying- Also very good page turner that I can recommend to my kiddos this year.
Thanks Crowe Family for making our vaca one of our best ones yet!
Thanks for stopping by- next up will be JC an Shanna’s wedding- can’t wait to share!
