When should I book you?
Maternity sessions should be booked after your first ultrasound around 8 weeks. Newborn photos should be booked between 8-16 weeks pregnant. I mark your due date on my calendar and then you reach out once the baby is here to officially pick a day and time.
When do maternity & newborn sessions typically happen?
Maternity sessions are usually scheduled between 30-35 weeks pregnant. The ideal time frame for truly capturing your newborn is between 1-3 weeks after birth. These timeframes are flexible depending on your needs.
Where do the sessions take place?
Maternity sessions are typically done outside somewhere that has meaning to you and your family. I can suggest locations as well. For newborn sessions, I am a strong advocate that these photos should be taken in your own home. This time is so special and you’ll want images that remind you exactly what those first few weeks home were like. I can work with any home and environment and find the best lighting. I typically take photos in the nursery, living room, master bedroom, and outside.
What do I need to have ready for you
This is the best part of newborn photos. I arrive early and help find the best place in your home that has great lighting. I also help you pick out blankets and outfits for your sweet baby. I have a moses basket that I’m happy to bring along.
