After photographing close to 100 engagement sessions, it’s time to share my very own!!! Before I share some photos, I want to share about our wedding photographer!! The number one question I have gotten since getting engaged is by far, “So who will be YOUR wedding photographer?!” The answer is Corrin Jasinski Photography!
Although I work in the wedding industry, Craig and I have still never been on this side of things! There is a lot for us to learn when planning a wedding! We had a couple things in mind when looking for a photographer.
1. We wanted someone that was personable. Believe it or not, you spend the most time on your wedding day with your significant other and then…the photographer!! Your photographer will be with you while you’re getting ready, seeing your groom the first time, and meeting all of your family. You want someone that you’re comfortable being around all day!
2. We were looking for a more natural editing style. We wanted someone that used natural light to compose their photos. I also wanted someone that didn’t mute out or over saturate the colors.
3. It was a bonus if we found someone that had photographed at our wedding venue before. Pharsalia is a very different venue. It’s not your typical wedding that all happens in one room or building. The grounds have many gardens, paths, a pool, the tent, overlooks, vineyards, etc. It wasn’t a must, but I thought it would be great to find someone that knew about all of these areas of our venue.
We found 3 photographers that were in our budget and fit most of our criteria. We interviewed all three and Corrin checked all three of these boxes! She was even on our wedding venue’s recommended vendors! I had also met her before at a photography workshop and knew that she was personable. The tipping point for me to book her was a week after we chatted on the phone, I was going venue shopping with my mom and she remembered exactly where we were going and reached out to me to tell me how excited she was for me to pick a venue and treated my mom and I to a Starbucks gift card to get the day started.
She did a fabulous job with us at Tuckahoe plantation and I’m so excited to share her work! Make sure to check out her website HERE! Also, a HUGE shoutout to Alicia Brooks from FBJ Weddings that did my hair and makeup. I kid you not when I say I have NO clue how to do anything with makeup or even curl my hair. She did an amazing job as well!
Come back soon for a post all about preparing for engagement sessions! …and yes River did make an appearance!
