Our honeymoon!!!!! Craig and I put this honeymoon together in 3 weeks! Our original plan was to go to Chattanooga, TN but our honeymoon treehouse canceled on us due to construction. Luckily, we just transferred the dates to go out to the treehouse next April. Unfortunately, both of us have expired passports so we picked a location in the US and went for it. Craig had never been to California and I had never been to Napa! We had a blast even though we were EXHAUSTED. The wedding fatigue is real!! Our favorite day on our honeymoon was probably our pool day where we laid around and did nothing! Can’t wait to share all of our fun pictures from our first week together as husband and wife.
The first 3 nights of our trip were in Napa Valley! We flew into San Francisco and then drove a hour north to our resort- The Meritage Resort and Spa. It was beautiful!!
We immediately started exploring and found a vineyard on site of our resort!
Craig is a pro with the camera now, love it!
Okay, these potatoes….We had a $50 breakfast credit at our resort every day and I was OBSESSED with their breakfast potatoes. I talked about them the whole rest of the trip, ha!
Our first full day, we had a reservation at Castello Di Amorosa which is a castle winery. It was so beautiful and such a cool experience to see where the wine is made.
After the winery, we had made dinner reservations at the Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch for dinner. It was such a neat atmosphere and everything was farm to table.
Our second full day was our pool day!!! We had a bottle of wine from Castello by the pool.
That night we decided to go down to the hot tub and there were 2 other couples on their honeymoon with the exact same wedding date as us. It was so fun hearing about their wedding and honeymoon plans.
Day 3, we had reservations at a different winery and then headed to see the redwoods!!
Muir woods was on our way to San Francisco so it was the perfect stop. It was a little more touristy than we imagined but it was still really cool to see how big the redwoods are.
Once we got to San Francisco we found the best dessert before we called it a night!
Our next full day was definitely our busiest but one of our favorites. We woke up early and drove 2 hours south of San Francisco to see Carmel. Carmel is this amazing beach town full of the cutest restaurants and shops. There’s even a map of 18 cottages that look like ginger bread houses. I made Craig walk and find all 18 with me, I was in photographer heaven. The first thing we did when we got there though was do what’s called the scenic 17 mile drive. This drive goes along the Pacific Coast and wraps around Pebble Beach Golf Course. It was SO pretty, this was Craig’s favorite thing we did all week long.
Once we were done with the 17 mile drive (it took about 2 hours), we headed back into Carmel to explore for the day!
This was my favorite meal all trip- an amazing hole in the wall greek restaurant in Carmel.
We did a wine tasting at a local winery while we waited for our reservation at Clint Eastwood’s restaurant called Mission Ranch.
Mission Ranch is a beautiful restaurant on a farm property that Clint Eastwood owns. We enjoyed being fancy for a night!
Our last full day was spent in San Francisco! We took recommendations from people on instagram that had reached out to me about what to do. We ate local, went to a bunch of overlooks of the city, saw some of the touristy things (Lombard Street & The Painted Ladies), and sat on the beach under the Golden Gate Bridge!
I’m so glad to have all of these memories in one place, thanks for being so excited for Craig and I! If you have any questions about any part of our trip, please reach out!
You guys enjoyed my favorite of the world. We love the wine country, SF and all of these areas. So happy for you! Thank you for inviting us to a very special wedding. We send love and light for your journey together. Becky and Alec
