Hi there, I’m Ashley Edmunds and I photograph weddings all over the world but my heart is in Virginia.
I grew up in Richmond, lived in the heart of Shenandoah for 7 years, and then found my way back to Richmond. Once you get to know me, you’ll see I’m a little Richmond obsessed. I can help you find the best restaurant, park, or brewery for any part of this wonderful city. I love photographing weddings here at home, in Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, DC, and beyond! When I’m not photographing weddings I’m most likely chasing River, my yellow lab trying to get a shoe out of his mouth, teaching my high school kiddos, or traveling with my amazing fiance Craig.

Finally I get a voice on this thing! My name is River or if you’re my mom it’s Rivy Tivy and if you’re my dad it’s RivMan but I prefer River. My parents have talked about how bad of a year 2020 was but I think it was the best year ever!!! Apparently, they used to have to go work somewhere else instead of the dining room table. That seems like nonsense. I like to brag to my friends that I was first pick from the litter. My mom and dad picked me out because I had a cool scar between my eyes. What they don’t know is I actually got that scar because I was stealing food from my siblings and they wacked me. I continue to steal food to this day. Mom is more likely to let me lick her plate. I think they were a little stupid to name me River before they even knew if I liked to swim but after a year on earth, I can say that the river house is my favorite place to be. Anyway, I picked out my best pictures to show you for my birthday. My birthday party had to get rescheduled because of an ice storm but hopefully they still get me a cake or something! This is before my parents got me and they ordered my supplies from Chewy. They didn’t realize how expensive I’d turn out. Dad isn’t smiling anymore when he goes to order my food and pay the vet bill. Oh and check out my first wave to the camera.

The first day I came home, I was so confused. I’d never seen grass before but now it’s one of my favorite things.

Ugh dad. Enough with the kisses.

Oh man, the start of the bow tie. I’m really not a fancy guy but my parents like to think otherwise.

I can’t stand when they kiss!!! I have to look away.

These were the beginning of my model days…

I love aunt Emily and uncle Steven even if my face doesn’t look like it. I tend to have resting bitch face. Sorry guys.

Just trying to peacefully chew my bone and mom shoves the camera in my face. I’m used to it now.

I love my namesake!!!!

Dad told me and mom to get all fancy at the river house which was strange but he had a surprise up his sleeve.

Apparently dad proposed to mom whatever that means. Mom looked nice with her pretty flowers.

Mom and dad took turns running stairs at Libby Hill park while I just watched them from the top. Sucks to suck guys.

They take me to happy hour at VMFA and make me leave before I even finished my first beer, what the heck!

Uncle Steven wanted me to be a baseball guy…didn’t happen.

Mom’s obsession with hydrangeas has got to go…

This was when they didn’t allow me on the couch. That lasted all of 3 months.

Grandma picked me up and showed me this handsome fellow in the mirror. He’s a good lookin guy!!

So apparently this is where mom and dad are getting married. Wish I could come but I never got an invite.

Family reunions are the best. Especially when a pool is involved!!!

Mom had lots of photoshoots this year and I got to be her model sometimes so she could test the lighting or something.

Oh boy. These crazies dragged me along to their engagement pictures then they threw me in the crate for their date afterwards, not fair!!

Let me tell you about my papa. He ALWAYS gives me the best treats. Also, this is my aunt Harper on the right.

Mom was telling me I was getting big but I didn’t believe her until I saw this little guy. Also, if you’re one of mom’s clients- I double check behind her that she edits all your photos perfectly.
