Hi there, I’m Ashley Edmunds and I photograph weddings all over the world but my heart is in Virginia. I grew up in Richmond, lived in the heart of Shenandoah for 7 years, and then found my way back to Richmond. Once you get to know me, you’ll see I’m a little Richmond obsessed. I can help you find the best restaurant, park, or brewery for any part of this wonderful city. I love photographing weddings here at home, in Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, DC, and beyond! When I’m not photographing weddings I’m most likely chasing River, my yellow lab trying to get a shoe out of his mouth, teaching my high school kiddos, or traveling with my amazing fiance Craig.
River is excited to give you a tour of his new room…oh I mean his little sister’s new room. He thinks every toy and blanket is for him and tried to pose in every photo I took. This should be interesting when we bring her home!
We have three bedrooms in our house and two of them have fireplaces in them so it made the decision pretty easy where the nursery would be. A majority of the furniture is from facebook marketplace, I’ve had a ton of success finding baby stuff on there. I’m happy to let you know where anything is from, just reach out!
I did edit her name off of the customized etsy sign over her bed, some pillows, and books because even though we aren’t being super private about her name, I’d love to share in a special way. She is named after my grandmother’s so I will be sharing that when she’s born.
I like to say I was director of this nursery and Craig and my mom really pulled off the labor!! A huge shoutout and thanks to them. Scroll to the bottom to see some behind the scenes of the hard work! Also, we are so so honored to have so many people gift our little girl beautiful, helpful things you’ll see in these photos!
Without further ado, River says “Welcome!” …
We didn’t have an overall theme for the nursery. Basically I found the rug which was the first piece I purchased from Rifle Paper Co and based everything else around those colors. I knew I wanted a theme that would somewhat fit with our farmhouse style house.
This sign has her nickname at the top and was customized on Etsy!
My sister-in-law got her a cute little Rifle Paper Co outfit!
This yellow blanket was knit by my friend Rachel, I’ll always cherish this.
I bought the rocking horse at a friend’s yard sale! Thanks Lindsey!
The flower print on her bookshelf was painted for her by my 12 year old niece.
This doorstop is one I’ve had forever but my mom painted it for me to match the colors. The dollhouse shape bookshelf was a $20 find on fb marketplace that my mom repainted!
Craig’s mom and sister threw my baby shower and had the guests bring their favorite baby book with a note inside instead of a card. These were so special for me to go through and I can’t wait to read them with her!
Adorable Etsy cutout sign gifted to me by my coteacher at Atlee, Abbey. I told her baby girl is going to learn to love reading as much as we do!
The changing table was a $40 find on fb marketplace and I switched out the knobs with pink ones from Hobby Lobby.
No clue if I organized these drawers how they will stay but I tried my best to put all her sleepers and diapers in by size.
My niece, Adelein also hand painted this letter J, hint hint!
These next photos are to show you what all the other closets/areas we still need to organize in our house currently look like! All of the baby gear we will be using shortly that didn’t fit in the nursery.
I took my nursery director job very seriously. You’ll see my feet up in most of these next photos!
Thanks for stopping by! Ask if you’re curious where anything is from. The countdown is officially on- less than 30 days until she’s here!
Ashley, thanks for sharing your baby’s room and for having River guide us through! He knows something is up and was a gracious tour guide. He will be an awesome big brother and will love her with all his heart. Your nursery is precious.
