I don’t even know where to start when recapping this amazing wedding!! Susannah and Spencer live in Maryland and planned a wedding at the beautiful Boars Head Resort in Charlottesville. Even being a state away, no detail was left out and everything turned out beautifully! Susannah and Spencer remind me a little of my husband and I in that they seem to be opposites in lots of ways but that compliments each other SO WELL. I did their engagement photos but felt so honored to get to know them during their wedding planning and wedding day by meeting the people that love them and watching their interactions. They are surrounded by SO many friends and family that adore them and their relationship. It was so evident in the emotion, speeches, and interactions of the day.
The forecast was changing ALL week long before their wedding. It POURED down rain the 15 minutes before these two walked down the aisle and then the sun came out and it was not playing around. It was so hot BUT you would have never known looking around at the joy on everyone’s face. I’ll never forget watching everyone sweat through their clothes, with huge genuine smiles and tears. That says something about who you are as a couple. A few other things I’ll never forget about this wedding-Susannah & Spencer’s relationship with their siblings, the emotional ways Susannah brought in the memory of her parents, the incredible dance party that apparently went until 2am!! Susannah and Spencer worked with some of the best vendors I could have dreamed up which helped the day go so smoothly. I got to work with my very own wedding videographer, Abby Bostian, which was so much fun for me! All vendors listed below. Enjoy this beautiful Charlottesville wedding!
One last thing before I jump into photos. These two honeymooned in Italy and I followed along on instagram and was SO JEALOUS. You trip looked amazing!!
Susannah’s shoes need their own moment!!
Spencer surprised Susannah with an adoption certificate into his family, so special!
I’m so glad these two chose to do a first look. All of these portraits would have been so hard to do later in the day with the rain and sun!
Serious question- I was boring and had all of my bridesmaids wear the same color. HOW do you all get these color palettes to look SO DANG GOOD?!? Obsessed with these girls!
I included this next photo to show how incredible their guests were. They wasted no time when the rain stopped to go and wipe down every single chair, so much teamwork.
Susannah was walked down the aisle by both of her big brothers. I was crying my eyes out, good thing it just looked like sweat at the time!
Would you order the Bad Old B or the Skinny Girl?!
This first station during dinner…YUM!!!!
All three dances were so emotional but Susannah’s dance with her brothers included a slideshow of photos with her dad. No dry eye in the whole reception!
