Hi there, I’m Ashley Edmunds and I photograph weddings all over the world but my heart is in Virginia.
I grew up in Richmond, lived in the heart of Shenandoah for 7 years, and then found my way back to Richmond. Once you get to know me, you’ll see I’m a little Richmond obsessed. I can help you find the best restaurant, park, or brewery for any part of this wonderful city. I love photographing weddings here at home, in Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, DC, and beyond! When I’m not photographing weddings I’m most likely chasing River, my yellow lab trying to get a shoe out of his mouth, teaching my high school kiddos, or traveling with my amazing fiance Craig.
Summer Georgetown Engagement Session | Mike & Rachel
Summer in Georgetown
I absolutely loved taking Mike and Rachel’s engagement photos in downtown Georgetown! I feel so lucky to live in Richmond where there are so many beautiful photo spots but there’s something about going to an entirely new town that makes me feel super creative all over again. Not only did I shoot these in a town I had never done a shoot in before, but I also shot them mid-morning on a Saturday- so lots of people and direct sun! I am SO proud with how these came out, in fact they are some of my absolute favorite engagement photos I’ve ever taken!! Summer in Georgetown is just so beautiful!
Wedding Planning
One of my favorite parts of any engagement session is walking around hearing all about wedding plans. I always get so excited hearing what vendors I’ll be working with, what colors will be the focus, who will be attendance, etc. The fun part about this session was Rachel and Mike are actually getting married next month!! Rachel and Mike will be coming to Richmond to get married at the beautiful Jefferson Hotel in July. I can’t wait to see their classy wedding plans come to life!
Dogs at Engagement Sessions
It takes a couple like Rachel and Mike to be able to taken engagement photos with a dog in a busy city!! Rachel’s brother came along to the shoot and helped hold Butter when I took photos of just the two of them which was SO helpful. They also brought along everything that Butter needed and were super flexible on locations, poses, etc. I also think pups should be included in photos, it makes them so special!! Craig and I included our own dog in our engagement photos and he actually looks so similar to Butter. You can see my own engagement photos HERE!
