Hi there, I’m Ashley Edmunds and I photograph weddings all over the world but my heart is in Virginia. I grew up in Richmond, lived in the heart of Shenandoah for 7 years, and then found my way back to Richmond. Once you get to know me, you’ll see I’m a little Richmond obsessed. I can help you find the best restaurant, park, or brewery for any part of this wonderful city. I love photographing weddings here at home, in Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, DC, and beyond! When I’m not photographing weddings I’m most likely chasing River, my yellow lab trying to get a shoe out of his mouth, teaching my high school kiddos, or traveling with my amazing fiance Craig.
The Barns at Mattaponi Springs Wedding | David & Delani
I have been looking forward to David & Delani’s wedding for a long time!! The day totally lived up to the hype too! I grew up in the same neighborhood as Delani’s family and have photographed her siblings a few times so I knew it was going to be such a special day. I also had never been The Barns at Mattaponi Springs, and was excited to be at a new location. When I pulled into the venue, it was raining lightly but oh my gosh you guys, this venue was SO GORGEOUS! The most beautiful manor house, barn, lake, field. It was a dream running around with these two taking portraits! The rain stopped minutes before their first look too, it was magical!
The Sweetest Love
David and Delani are two of the kindest people I’ve honestly ever been around. All day, they were making sure I was okay, which was wild to me!! I came home and immediately told my husband how much I adore these two. You both were the perfect combination of organized and planned, yet chill and low key. Every one had a blast at your wedding. It was so much fun watching your guests gush over everything. You threw an incredible party, complete with TONS of desserts and dancing all night long. If I could replicate this day every single weekend I would.
Congrats to you both and hope you had a wonderful honeymoon!!
Delani did something I’ve never seen before and it was so special. She privately tried on her mom’s wedding dress with her before putting on her own. It fit her perfectly, honestly she could have worn it down the aisle!!! The funny story about this is she had her dad come in and see her in it and he had no clue it was his wife’s wedding dress! We all got a good laugh!
The absolute sweetest first look and private vow reading.
Since David and Delani decided to do a first look, their entire bridal party got to go straight to cocktail hour after the ceremony!
During dinner, when each table was called up to the buffett, they first stopped at the head table and got a photo with David and Delani. This was a great way for them to get a photo with everyone!!
Private last dance under the string lights. I was in HEAVEN photographing this!!
