Hi there, I’m Ashley Edmunds and I photograph weddings all over the world but my heart is in Virginia.
I grew up in Richmond, lived in the heart of Shenandoah for 7 years, and then found my way back to Richmond. Once you get to know me, you’ll see I’m a little Richmond obsessed. I can help you find the best restaurant, park, or brewery for any part of this wonderful city. I love photographing weddings here at home, in Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, DC, and beyond! When I’m not photographing weddings I’m most likely chasing River, my yellow lab trying to get a shoe out of his mouth, teaching my high school kiddos, or traveling with my amazing fiance Craig.

I am SO excited to share Ellie and Joe’s Quirk Hotel, Second Baptist, Common House wedding day!! From an outside prospective this wedding could have had tons of opportunities to get behind schedule. Because of their incredible planning and vendors- we were actually ahead of schedule all day long! Joe and the guys got ready at his mom’s house while Ellie and the girls got ready at the classy Quirk Hotel.

The lighting and decor at Quirk makes for an amazing backdrop. If anyone is getting married downtown, I highly suggest getting ready at Quirk if you don’t have a bridal suite at your venue. Next, we all met up at Second Baptist Church. The weather was beautiful and Ellie and Joe shared a private first look in the gardens. We got almost all of their photos done so after their ceremony. Everyone got to go straight to cocktail hour at The Common House, what a win!!

The Common House

I had never photographed a wedding at The Common House and now I want to be back every weekend!!! Cocktail hour was in the library and the incredible rooftop. Guests got a full view of Richmond city while enjoying amazing cocktails. The reception was inside/outside. The sprinkle of rain didn’t start until Joe’s dance with his mom! What an incredible space!

Love Story

Ellie and Joe met on hinge and both talked about how after the second date, it was an easy decision to delete the app for good!! These two give off an aura about them that makes you feel so welcome and included. It was no surprise the amount of friends they had in attendance and people that love them. Usually during vendor dinners, we stuff our face and check our phones. At this wedding we all gushed about how amazing of a couple Ellie and Joe are and how honored we felt to be a small part of their wedding. Thank you both from the bottom of my heart!!
