Hi there, I’m Ashley Edmunds and I photograph weddings all over the world but my heart is in Virginia.
I grew up in Richmond, lived in the heart of Shenandoah for 7 years, and then found my way back to Richmond. Once you get to know me, you’ll see I’m a little Richmond obsessed. I can help you find the best restaurant, park, or brewery for any part of this wonderful city. I love photographing weddings here at home, in Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, DC, and beyond! When I’m not photographing weddings I’m most likely chasing River, my yellow lab trying to get a shoe out of his mouth, teaching my high school kiddos, or traveling with my amazing fiance Craig.

I’m so excited to share Chris and Lauren’s wedding from last weekend at the beautiful Loft at Steamer Co 5 downtown Richmond! This intimate venue is one block off of Broad Street downtown and is the perfect spot if you have 75 or less guests. Lauren and Chris opted for an intimate wedding and reception with immediate family and their closest friends and it was INCREDIBLE. They got ready at a chic airbnb downtown, shared a first look, took photos in front of the Quirk Hotel and then headed to the venue. I met Lauren through her sister Megan who is a good friend of mine so it was so much fun seeing their sister bond all day long!

A few other things I’ll never forget about this day are Lauren and Chris sharing their private vows to each other right after their first look, the very sentimental speeches, and the dance party!!! So funny story- these two were ahead of schedule all day, it was a dream!!! Being ahead of schedule though meant the dance floor would be open for well over 3 hours which at any typical wedding can get too long. We all chatted and decided if things started slowing down we would do the exit early. WELL…let me tell you, the dance floor (remember only 50 people at the entire wedding) never once died down. This was partly due to how much fun all their friends and um nanny were (HA!) and also partly due to Kevin Bates their incredible DJ!!! I had a blast. Another last thing I’ll never forget about this wedding is it was my first wedding knowing that baby Miller existed. Baby Miller was around for Michele and Tim’s January wedding but I didn’t know about him/her yet. Baby Miller has 7 more weddings to attend in utero, so fun!

We snuck into the Quirk and it was so worth it. I also LOVED all of the bridesmaid dresses, they came together and multiple people have reached out to me how much they loved the color scheme!

Nanny brought the party!! The day after the wedding I was at a baby shower with Lauren’s sister and we got a photo of Nanny taking a much needed nap outside.
