Hi there, I’m Ashley Edmunds and I photograph weddings all over the world but my heart is in Virginia.
I grew up in Richmond, lived in the heart of Shenandoah for 7 years, and then found my way back to Richmond. Once you get to know me, you’ll see I’m a little Richmond obsessed. I can help you find the best restaurant, park, or brewery for any part of this wonderful city. I love photographing weddings here at home, in Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, DC, and beyond! When I’m not photographing weddings I’m most likely chasing River, my yellow lab trying to get a shoe out of his mouth, teaching my high school kiddos, or traveling with my amazing fiance Craig.

Another photographer reached out to me on instagram when I posted Will and Brooke’s Hollyfield Manor wedding sneak peek photos telling me how beautiful the photos were. The best response to that and to sum up their day was that everything was SO SEAMLESS. The weather? Perfect. The venue and planner? AMAZING! The couple? Super relaxed. First look? YES! Sunset photos? Perfectly timed. It almost felt too easy!!!

Hollyfield Manor Wedding

I had never shot at Hollyfield Manor before but had heard great things. When I arrived, one of the owners and planners, Jessica, greeted me and asked if I needed anything. I already knew it was going to be an amazing day. Jessica lives on the property and told me where and when the lighting was good in each parts of the property, WHAT. I usually have to do all of this research on the lighting myself so this was a huge help. Jessica was AMAZING all day long and it really contributed to the seamless day.

Clients Turned Friends

Another thing that contributed to the day being so seamless was the fact that I’d already had two sessions with Will and Brooke before their wedding! Will hired me to photograph his proposal to Brooke at a local park, it was amazing!! I also took their engagement photos, see them HERE (they are some of my favorites). Will and Brooke’s dog, Sophie, was at all three events!! We REALLY need to get Sophie and River together for multiple reasons. They would get along great, but I also need Sophie to train River because she is such a well behaved dog!!!

The Perfect Day

Will and Brooke- thank you for trusting me with so many important moments of your life. I’ll never forget so many aspects of your beautiful wedding. Your private vows were so emotional to watch from afar. You both attending your whole cocktail hour was so fun to see you with all your family and friends. Brooke- your dad’s speech was SO funny and also so sentimental, which I love. Will- the shoe change was EPIC. Love you guys and enjoy reliving your day!
