Hi there, I’m Ashley Edmunds and I photograph weddings all over the world but my heart is in Virginia.
I grew up in Richmond, lived in the heart of Shenandoah for 7 years, and then found my way back to Richmond. Once you get to know me, you’ll see I’m a little Richmond obsessed. I can help you find the best restaurant, park, or brewery for any part of this wonderful city. I love photographing weddings here at home, in Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, DC, and beyond! When I’m not photographing weddings I’m most likely chasing River, my yellow lab trying to get a shoe out of his mouth, teaching my high school kiddos, or traveling with my amazing fiance Craig.

If you are looking for true Richmond vibes, Commonwealth Club is a great spot in the heart of downtown for your wedding. Today I’m featuring 3 of my favorite weddings and why I love being a Commonwealth Club wedding photographer.
- Each wedding here is so unique. They have the space and staff to truly make anything you envision come to life. Oysters on the patio? Ceremony upstairs? Cocktails in the atrium? 12 person band in the ballroom? I’ve seen it all!!
- Commonwealth Club is an exclusive club but they allow nonmembers to get married if you know a member and they can be your sponsor.
- The ballroom has the most amazing lighting and decor already!! You don’t need to go crazy decorating because it’s stunning as it is!
- You can truly customize with the vendors you want. I love a specialty bar in the middle of the ballroom, it’s stunning!
- You are in perfect proximity to so many hotels and night life. All of the weddings I’ve done here, the couple has walked to bars with their friends after which you don’t have access to if you get married in the country.
It actually rained majority of the day for Ellie and Gray’s wedding but we pivoted and used our time outside to the best of our ability. You would never know when looking at their gallery! The ballroom was also a beautiful backdrop for portraits.
I love a band at Commonwealth Club. The stage is the perfect set up to party all night long!
