Thank YOU
I am so excited to announce that this business I started building 8 years ago is officially going to be my full time job!!! I actually can’t believe it and am in shock that this is the year I’m finally announcing this! It’s been a long time coming for sure. I owe it to each of you for following along, hiring me, and sharing about my business. Believe it or not, I’ve never paid for advertising of any kind because each of you has shared your experience with your family and friends. I am SO GRATEFUL!!!! If you go to my instagram, there is a giveaway going on just for you!
Eight Years
If you ask any of my family, friends, or even clients they will tell you how much of a busy body I am. I like to be on the go, I’m very extroverted, and get energy from doing new things and being around people. I have enjoyed having essentially two full time jobs the past 8 years. A typical day for me (before I had a child) looked like waking up early, editing photos or emailing clients, going to teach all day, coming home and spending time with Craig, and then editing all night while Craig watches his shows. It was A LOT. This was the year that something had to change.
Two Full Time Jobs
This 2 full time job life became unattainable honestly when I got pregnant. I had a rough first trimester so I started outsourcing some work then (this was the best business decision I ever made). I decided to try one school year while being a mom and realized something had to go. I couldn’t run a full time business, teach school, be a mom, and a wife. I realized what I’m passionate about and is PEOPLE. This is what I absolutely loved about teaching and exactly why I love serving my couples and families at weddings & portrait session.
What’s Next?
So what does this look like?! I’ll still be photographing weddings and portrait sessions, but now I’ll get to take on more! Portrait sessions for me are newborn sessions, engagements, proposals, and families usually! I will be able to expand my business hours and take on more clients, which I’m so excited about!! I will be available for my brides and grooms more and can schedule weekday sessions now. I am SO nervous about making this jump but also so ready to jump in! Thank you all for your support for SO many years. I am so thankful for such an amazing community.
I got headshots taken this weekend at Contrast Studio downtown Richmond. I had been meaning to explore this studio anyway because it’s a spot I can rent to take client’s portraits as well. It has great lighting and backdrops! Can’t wait to visit Contrast more!
This next photo is a highlight of my career- taking portraits of a couple in Sedona, Arizona!
I photographed 10 weddings with little Annie in my belly!
I have taught for 9 years and I am super proud of this time. I have worked at two different schools with so many incredible students. I have taught grades 6,7, 10, 11, and 12. So here’s a little memory walk of photos from my years as a teacher!
I took a photo in front of my school’s marquee every single year at the very end of the school year. I’m so glad I have these photos to look back on.
Kelly and I sponsored a class together for four years. This means we had a student SCA and helped plan powerpuff, prom, Mr. AHS, graduation, all the things!! It was a great 4 years!
This night I did a tiktok dance on stage in front of a sold out auditorium. Oh man, I can forget that memory!!
I taught one year in Hanover County’s online school during COVID. It was also the year we got River and oh man, being a stay at home dog mom prepared me for a baby, ha!
Thank you all for following along!! I’m so excited for what’s to come! To see another personal post, check out my daughter’s birth story!
